Danielle + Steven’s Downtown Historic Wedding

Some wedding days are planned out carefully for months & months, from the choreographed dance that took weeks to learn how to do down to what color the silverware will be. But this wedding was 100% all about living in the moment and going with the natural flow of the day, and to be honest….it was SO FUN! Danielle + Steven brought nothing but good vibes to their wedding day, and it showed in every laugh, smile, happy tear, and spontaneous moments that happened throughout their day!

Yes, they still planned out the big events. Like what time the DJ was going to start playing the music for her to walk down the aisle, and what time catering would arrive. But pretty much every other aspect of their wedding day happened……when it happened. Truthfully, it was a breath of fresh air. Something about a bride that intentionally takes time to soak in all of the things that move way to fast on a wedding day was so heart filling to see. Danielle wanted to feel and be present in every moment fully, and I’m so happy she did. It’s the biggest event in your life that you can’t get back, and every bride deserves to slow down and take extra time curling her hair while face timing her best friend that couldn’t come just soaking in the moment of what’s about to happen!

Danielle sent me the sweetest message when she first got engaged that made me instantly reminded of why I always show up as more than just a hired vendor on a wedding day. I show up as a friend, someone that you already know and are excited to work with. I know it’s not always the case, but messages like these let me know they are going to be true Sam Wynn Brides. They don’t know about any of the other details about their wedding day yet, but they KNOW they have to have me there. What an honor that always is, and it’s never lost on me the impact that I am making in this world, even if it’s something that may seem as small as bringing joy to someone’s wedding day, to me that is the world. I am so thankful I was able to be there for them to capture their wedding day!

This was probably one of the smallest wedding I have photographed, and I treasured every minute of it. There is something about the rush of a big wedding day I will always love but experiencing such a small and intimate wedding day like Danielle’s, made me so thankful to have the opportunity to slow down and truly soak in what I cherish most about photographing wedding days.

From the moment Danielle slipped into her wedding dress, to the most tear wrenching first look she shared with her twin boys, to the heart felt first look she shared with Steven, to the perfect sunset we got at the end of the evening everything felt effortless and real - just the way they wanted it. They didn’t want some huge wedding with all the details that costed thousands of dollars, they just wanted their favorite friends and family to be there while they said “I DO”, no stressing over a tight timeline or little details, no bridesmaids or groomsmen, just a whole lot of love, laughter, thier favorite friends and dancing the night away….and that’s exactly what they did!

Danielle + Steven’s wedding day was a perfect reminder that sometimes the best weddings are the ones where you simply go with the flow!

THANK YOU Danielle + Steven for choosing me to photograph your wedding day, I know you could have chosen anyone, and I am beyond honored that you chose me. My hope is that when you look through and re-live the images of their day you see how much love surrounded them on April 12th, 2025. There was such an abundance of it. Enjoy their day below!

Sometimes you need a mini dance party with your makeup artist!
