A lowkey backyard engagement session
This session was just as beautiful as it looks! I got to spend the evening with Megan, Michael, their 3 pups and even Megans best friend Logan as we found beautiful pockets of light while we outran the rain!
This time of year is always so tricky for engagement sessions because spring in NC brings its own challenges of weather! We had rescheduled their engagement session about 3 times before we actually got to do it because the weather was so unforgiving! We got so lucky with the weather on this day, it was the perfect mix of sun and clouds before the pouring rain came. When Megan reached out and said she wanted her engagement photos done on her family property, it was the quickest YES! One thing I love and always encourage my couples is to try and pick a location that is special to you both, because it just makes those photos so much sweeter. When she said family compound, she really meant it! I got to meet quite a few family members of theirs while we made our way around finding the perfect photo spots, which is so sweet because when I show up on their wedding day it’s going to be like seeing old family that I already know!
I absolutely adore the relationship Megan + Michael have together, and when I say they were a DREAM to photograph, I truly mean it! There was not a moment that these two didn’t look at each other and not smile or laugh, and if you see a few images below where they are, just know that SECONDS after they busted out in the biggest smiles! I don’t know what I did in life to be so blessed to be able to get to know Megan + Michael, and their family, but I’m so thankful I am. They are such a joy to be around, so easy to talk to, and they made my job so EASY!

I can’t wait to show up on their wedding day in September to photograph their big day, to see Logan as a bridesmaid and Megan + Michael’s family all over again!
Logan deserves an award for the worlds best BESTIE for doing pull ups on a tree branch to shake some petals off!!
